British War Medal 1914-1920 of 13984 Private Alexander Smith of the Manchester Regiment.Re-enlisted at the Depot on 17th November 1914 aged 32, and admitted prior service in the 5th Battalion, Manchester Regiment (T.F.) Joined 1st Battalion, Manchester Regiment in France on 4th May 1915. He returned to the Depot on 8th July 1915 and was attached for duty in a Plating Factory in Manchester. Discharged surplus to military requirements on 1st January 1919.
