UK WWII group of x7 medals awarded to Lieutenant (SP) G.P. Millar D.S.C. R.N.V.R., includes 1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star, Africa Star, Burma Star, Italy Star, War Medal 1939-45 & boxed (Garrard) D.S.C. Medal Inscribed 1945 on reverse. The D.S.C. was awarded whilst serving in the Far East aboard H.M.S. Royalist, with accompanying personal papers and photos, including letters from early in the War regarding placements and appointments, letter from Admiralty regarding award of the D.S.C, pre-printed letter from Buckingham Palace about the King not being able to hand the award over personally, letter from the Admiralty regarding release after the War and some later personal correspondence. The medals also come with corresponding miniatures. A scarce group of which only x4524 Distinguished Service Cross medals were awarded throughout WWII for Gallantry during active operations against the enemy at sea.
