BARNSLEY BREWERY CO ADVERTISING BEER JUG. 6.3ins tall. Regarded as amongst the very finest of UK ceramic water jugs. Very colourfully emblazoned with foliate design all around rim & down the sides. Lettered below the lip for Oakwell Brewery/ Famous/ Mild and Bitter/ Ales. Each side promoting both a Scotch & Irish whisky. Minor wear but no damages. Doulton base transfer. BBR has sold a fair number of these over the years but most with minor damages - this is an extremely rare top condition example, complete with an original (aged) newspaper clipping referring to an exhibition it was in.
