Twenty Four commemorative first day covers "Return to Colditz Oflag IVc", twenty two are signed by various prisoners of war held at Colditz Castle (Oflag IVc) during WW2 including German guards Heinrich, Schneider and Peter Hoffman, Lieutenant Fredo "Scarface" Guigues (Frenchman), Lieutenant Colonel Airey Neave (first Brit to escape Oflag IVc Colditz), Lieutenant Colonel Lee Shaugnessy (USA 273rd Infantry Div), Major Patrick "Pat" Reid, Midshipman John Powell Davies, Captain Tommy Catlow, Lieutenant Colonel James Yule, Pilot Officer Jack Best (headed the "Colditz Cock" glider project), Captain Kenneth Lockwood MBE (One of the first British prisoners at Colditz), GWA Courtice and Flight Lieutenant Dominic Bruce to name a few.
