Examination under UV reveals no evidence of overpainting or restoration. There are several areas of grey/black residue to the left side of the work, and some fox marks to the lower right quadrant. We understand that this damage was discovered following the painting's removal from long term storage, and is likely to be the result of environmental factors in the store. The frame appears to be structurally sound but shows slightly open joints at the corners.
