The following lots are by Raymond Barry Owen everyone knew him as Barry Owen.
He loved trains since a young boy, his father worked at Paragon Station in Hull. He developed a passion for model trains and in order to get the detailing right he would take photos. He moved to London from Hull in the early 50’s and would go to various lines in the south east. He loved going to the Isle of Wight railway and also North Wales narrow gauge lines where his father was born. He moved to Tonbridge Kent in 1963 and would visit local lines and became a member of various railway societies like the Bluebell Line.
Railway. Narrow Gauge. A selection of 39 x 35mm original colour slides on Agfa film stock, featuring the FFESTINIOG Railway by the late Barry Owen.
There are some good period photos of the line, most date from the 1960's, but there are a few from 1970/71. Accompanying the lot is a letter from the Railway allowing Mr Owen to take photographs on one of his trips to the line. No real captions, sold with copyright. Sample illustrated.
