3rd West York Militia pre 1855 Victorian Officer shoulder belt plate. Fine scarce silver on copper example burnished rectangular plate mounted with crowned strung bugle, Rose of the House of York lodged between the cords. Beneath the bugle, a floriated scroll 3RD WEST YORK. Two hooks and two studs; complete with leather liner. Reverse with evidence of filled holes. VGC HQ. Pontefract. Became the 3rd Battalion The York and Lancaster Regiment 1/7/1881.
