British Victorian 1871 Pattern Cavalry Helmet. Brass skull with 1st Dragoon Guards regimental helmet plate to front. Helmet has brass cross base and fluted plume holder which houses a falling white horse hair plume. Gilt metal rosette to top of holder. Brass rosettes (one of which is a replacement and is loose having incorrect thread) which hold a replacement chin chain backed with brown felt. Brown leather liner which bears a paper size label which reads "6 1/2". Green leather to underside of peak.
Modern replacement chin chain. Overall condition is good with no damage to the skull of the helemt. Normal service wear.
