A programme of service held in the Lucknow residency April 5th 1899, to unveil the memorial, attached ‘’horse guards 14th may 1858’’ her majesty is pleased to direct that 32nd Regiment be clothed, equipped and trained as a light infantry regiment from 26th February 1858. Her Majesty has also been pleased to command that the word 'Lucknow' shall borne on the regimental colour; with a copy of the cloth and the added insignia. (4)
