Born in Edinburgh studied in Glasgow school of art. The artist then moved to Winnipeg in 1913 becoming the principal of the Winnipeg school of art. A long career in art resulted in the artist becoming a memorable manitoban. An exhibition of his work was held in Winnipeg art gallery in 1986.
