A locomotive nameplate, GRANTLEY HALL, from a GWR 4900 Hall Class 4-6-0 No 6924 built at Swindon in August 1941 and named in May 1947 after the country house near Ripon in North Yorkshire, now a hotel. Its BR sheds were Stafford Road, Leamington Spa, Gloucester, Oxley, Reading and Oxford from where it was withdrawn in October 1965 and cut up by Friswells Ltd on site at 2D Banbury in February 1966 following a period in store at Gloucester (Horton Road) STEAM NAMEPLATE SPECIAL: Buy a main line steam nameplate and we can deliver it to you promptly, free of charge.
