Two Chinese silver plaques mounted on wooden frames - both presented to R.F.C. Hedgeland, Commissioner of Customs, one from the Chinese Indoor Staff on 16th October, 1925 and one from Chen Yu Kuan, 2nd. Assistant B and Fu- En- Tse, Head Writer, 30th November, 1926. They are both attractively engraved with birds etc. The larger one appears to be unmarked silver but it could be stamped on the reverse. (It does have Chinese characters on the wooden back which could stand for the Silversmith). The small plaque has two Makers marks on the back of two of the screw fittings, the Maker is a Hong Hong Maker called Wing On Co, this Maker operated in the first half of the 20th C. Comes with a little research and a framed visiting card of R.F.C. Hedgeland.
