COMPLAINTS REGARDING COLOURS ETC:A page from G Leslie Newman's (De La Rue Archivist) album bearing soiled used Straits Settlements KGV 5c, 6c & 30c as sent to De La Rue with various notes regarding the 3c being in green as the present 2c. Changes were also required for the 8c & 10c. The piece with m/s "Recd from Sarawak/with letters" and bellow the 30c "or/Dark Green" . Also a piece from the album bearing perforated 6c in two shades with m/s "9 12 21" and "24 1 23" alongside. It would appear that during the production of the 6c the colour had changed. De La Rue replied that this was probably due to climate affecting the paper and wax paper interleaving.
