CORNISH INTEREST - A George III silver pair case verge fusee pocket watch, Wm West St Ives. The 45mm white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and outer minute track, the movement with foliate engraved plate and pierced cock with diamond endstone, silvered regulating disc, signed Wm West St Ives 4694, with a stop side lever, the inner and outer case hallmarked London 1814, 60mm. A William West, St. Ives watchmaker, and his wife Joanna, are mentioned in a quitclaim deed of John Harvey, St Erth, St Gluvias and Stithians in 1816. Source Kresan Kernow, ref. CF/1/1160.
