Audubon - Rare Imperial Folio of Orange Coloured Mouse 1846.

This stunning lithograph of a life size Orange Coloured Mouse (Mus Aureolus), being Plate 95, is from Viviparous Quadrupeds of North America, the Imperial folio edition. Published 1845-1848, after drawings by John James and John Woodhouse Audubon and containing 150-hand-coloured lithographs.

This striking coloured plate, lithographed on stone, printed and coloured by J. T. Bowen of Philadelphia, after a drawing by John Woodhouse Audubon with the backgrounds after Victor Audubon.

This plate was purchased at auction from the great grandchild of the artist's wife's family.

Size: 21.6in x 27.5in (55cm x 70cm).

The print is in excellent condition - please inspect the image carefully.
