Pair of Austrian painted terracotta figures of African -American boys, by Johann Maresch, circa 1900, impressed 'JM' and numbered '6472' and '6468', height 27.5cm

The Whistling Boy has a couple of small chips to the underside rim of his hat and a little bit of wear at the back of his hat. There is some rubbing to his nose, lips and eyebrows and to the tips of his shoes. There are tiny nibbles around the foot of the base.
The other figure has three tiny chips to the lapel of his jacket. There is a chip to his trousers at the knee. There are some tiny nibbles around the foot of the base.
Incidentally, most of the chips are well camouflaged as they have been coloured to match.
