1930s Mickey Mouse 6" Deans Rag Doll - Patent Dispute. Scarce, and very early Mickey Mouse Doll by Deans Rag Book Co (Rye, Sussex, UK) dating c1932 Crucial Registration Number on Neck: 730611 Subject to a bitter patent dispute with Walt Disney. Mickeys' condition is generally very good throughout, with only the lightest wear commensurate for its age. The velveteen/felt shows few signs of playwear, whilst the colours are rich, vivid, and truly supreme. T is no sign of moth-munching, and t is NO discolouration, no fading nor stains worth mentioning. His matching cheeky beady eyes along with his cheesey, toothy grin are as they left the factory. His shorts are in good order, and even boast ALL four matching yellow buttons still firmly sewn on. His ears are flawless, his feet fine. OK, some stitching has loosened slightly in places, but nothing is compromised, and all minor flaws are clearly visible in the high-resolution images. Mickey is ALL ORIGINAL! A WONDERFUL EXAMPLE! He proudly carries the all-important registration number on neck: 7 30611 He measures 6" / 17cm approx tip to toe. This doll is a truly great find, and is hardly ever seen in the USA. Forerunner to and rarer than other 1930s 'Mickey Doll' imposters: Knickerbocker Steiff Borgfelt (we understand that it was Deans Rag who battled the patent...)
