A late 18th century brass barrelled and brass framed flintlock boxlock blunderbuss pistol with spring bayonet, by Richardson, Manchester, 13½” overall, bell mouth barrel 7½” with early B’ham proofs, ramrod ramp on right side, and 7” spring bayonet beneath released by sliding trigger guard; the frame engraved with trophies of flags and swags, and signed in script; with top thumb safety and bevelled walnut butt with shield shaped silver escutcheon.
