WESLEY AND RELIGIOUS INTEREST 19TH CENTURY PRINTED POTTERY: including a Staffordshire pottery figure of 'Wesley' preaching from a pulpit with moulded clock face, height 29cm, two monochrome printed 'BAND OF HOPE' nursery plates, diameter 18cm, a similar bowl monochrome printed with 'SACRED HISTORY OF JOSEPH AND HIS BRETHREN - JOSEPH interpreting PHARAOHs DREAM', diameter 19cm, three monochrome printed tea plates (History of Joseph, Death of Paul and 'Now Vex'd at his folly and loss of his cake'), diameter 16.5cm, an orange lustre edged 'Prepare to meet thy God' wall plaque, width 21cm, a Sunderland lustre 'Praise Ye the Lord' wall plaque and three other pieces of Sunderland lustre including an 'Adam Clarke' circular bowl, with glued repairs and lacking side handles, diameter 12cm, etc (17) (Condition report: Staffordshire figure has a glaze scuff and crazing, one Band of Hope plates has extensive cracks, the History of Joseph bowl has extensive cracks, all three tea plates have cracks, both wall plaques are cracked and crazed, the Adam Clarke bowl is badly damaged, Sunderland footed bowl is badly cracked. Sunderland Wesley plate is in good condition, the Celebration of Wesleyan Methodism tankard is crazed, stained, cracked and chipped, Salem Independent Chapel Burnley plate has rim chip, stained crazing and cracked, Wesley Centenary Hall plate is in good condition, Wesley saucer sounds defective when tapped and Bible Society cream jug is crazed and stained)
