WW1 BWM, Victory Medal and Territorial Force War Medal to Lieut H.E. Blaiberg (2 Lieut R. War R. on TFWM) extremely fine. Harold Ephraim Blaiberg was granted Temp rank 2nd Lieut (late Sgt 2nd County of London Yeo) 17/9/14, commissioned 2nd Lieut from Officer Cadet 5/9/16 in Warwickshire Regt, promoted Lieut 1/7/17, received a GSW to neck and spine serving with 8th Bn early in 1917. The Croydon Times dated 21 Apr 1917 reported he had been wounded in the recent fighting, having been shot in the neck. His father was the proprietor of Croydon Grand Theatre. He was discharged from hospital to duty 29/8/17. The London Gazette dated 5/11/40 notes his commission as a Pilot Officer on probation was terminated on cessation of duty 24/9/40. With copied MIC, LGs, casualty roll and paper extract. Only 14 officers in the Warwickshire Regt were awarded the TFWM. (See photo) (R)
