Clarice Cliff - Convolvulus Fantasy - An early Tankard shape coffee service circa 1928, hand painted with stylised flower heads and tendrils over a honey glazed ground with rust red banding, S/D.
NB - To date this is believed to be the only recorded example of this design and comes from a range of early hand painted wares with similar outlining and execution which developed in to more main stream production patterns.
There is a small chip to the flat underside of the coffee pot and there is crazing across the set with some minor staining.
