Oil Painting on Canvas - Brothel.
19x14cm. 17th c oil on copper probably originally from France of Inn or residence-brothel with madam as nun-picture depicts pocketwatch being stolen from mans jacket.About 9x7.The composition of this painting is relatively substantial. The characters are lined up, filling the entire picture space. The light in the hotel is dim and the environment is not very good. and wandering. Because the light is not very bright, it is impossible to see the real fact, and some of the limbs of the characters in the painting are blurred in the darkness. When painting, the painter grasped the fluidity and linearity of the character's dynamic, so that the lines extended by the characters during the action are interlaced and arranged together. Although it looks complicated, they have their own rules. The rhythm of the picture is tense and full of tension, and the characters in the picture seem to be ready to appear in the next second. The emotions and psychology of the characters are artistically magnified in expression and demeanor, beyond the appeal of the picture, so that every viewer who watches the painting can feel the scene that happened in the hotel and the joyful atmosphere. The people in the painting are like actors, who staged a dramatic scene in a seemingly random but well-arranged set, which greatly aroused the audience's curiosity and eagerness to explore.
