Provenance: By descent in the Edge family at Strelley Hall, Nottingham; sold by order of the Trustees of the estate of the late Miss E M Edge at the contents sale of Strelley Hall by Henry Spencer & Sons in conjunction with Smith-Woolley 22-24 November 1978, lot 441, whence purchased by the late vendor.
Restored shortly after the 1978 sale. Note: the slight discrepancy in the dimensions between the present and earlier sale catalogues consequently insertion of a small modern gilt frame
Restored in the 1970s or 1980s, lined, in 19th c style gilt frame
