PRE WWI AVIATION HISTORY: A remarkable 1911-14 range of used & unused PPCs mounted on annotated leaves in box file inc. four 1911 cards depicting the Toulouse to Pau flight by the pilot Morin, one card signed; 1911-13 Semaine or Fetes d'Aviation cards for Avignon, Narbonne, Besancon, Mondoubleau, Oyonnax, Marseille, La Clayette, St. Brieuc, Epernay, Angers, Macon, Roanne, Lucon, Alencon, Nancy, La Loupe, Chalon sur Saone; a series of 28 unused cards commemorating the 1911 Circuit Europeen depicting pilots, planes, and coats of arms; 1912 card depicting a crashed plane at Bourg en Bresse; 1912 newspaper wrapper, env. & PPC with large "POSTE PAR AVION" labels tied by Nancy cds's with Luneville cds's adjacent carried on the first official air mail flight between those cities; 1913 posted PPC commemorating the visit of the aviator Maneyrol to Le Pellerin; and other related examples.
