R.F.C. WW1 Memorial Plaque to Sidney Arthur Holmes, minor verdigris spots with card case of issue. A unique name on CWGC, he died of wounds inflicted accidentally on 3rd August 1916 while serving as Airman 1st Class with 23rd Sqn and is buried in Avesnes-Le-Comte Communal Cemetery Extension. With 2 copied pages of RFC records and CWGC, he was born in Canterbury, attested for RFC 31/7/15 aged 20 and working as a motor driver. (R)
