Waterlow & Sons. Queensland 2d essay, cut down progressive die proof with incomplete areas on the right, in black on wove paper. This essay was submitted for the 1879 tender in support of a recommendation to use line-engraved printing, but quickly ruled out of the competition as surface printing had already been agreed for the next stamp issue.
