Good mahogany three train longcase clock, the 13" brass arched dial signed Jno Richardson, Bubwith on an arched silvered surround above the moon phase, over a silvered chapter ring enclosing a foliate engraved centre with tune selector dial inscribed Hymn, Somebody, Theadore, What Can the Matter Be, Monney, Musk, Gramagree and Washington, over a subsidiary calendar dial, the movement playing on a nest of eight bells and striking the hours on another, the case with long wavy chevron banded door inlaid with an oval floral panel to the centre, the hood surmounted by a moulded dentil swan neck cornice with two brass rosettes and a central ball and eagle finial, 93" high (pendulum, four weights and keys)

**This clock is sold with a valuation for insurance undertaken by the Clock Clinic in Putney, London dated 20th July 1994 for £10,000. There are also various other repair receipts relating to the clock undertaken by various shops over the years

This clock is also sold with a framed black and white print illustrating the clock movement and inscribed John Richardson, Bubwith, eight day musical longcase C.1760, seven tunes on eight bells

We are unable to ascertain whether the tunes play perfectly as the clock has not been running for a long time and is in need of an overhaul but, generally, this clock is in reasonable condition and has been in the same family for many years, we have uploaded several receipts from clock restorers from the 1980s up to 2017 who have been involved in servicing the movement, the dial is in generally reasonable condition with some silver loss to the chapter ring and centre, the case appears in reasonable condition with minor warping to the door, the hood side frets are both missing replaced by burgundy cloth, the movement also has a pull repeat and four weights.
