The remaining personal effects of Major General Sir Samuel Benfield Steele (Medonet, Canada 1848- London 1919), an unusual shaped Bowie fighting knife, circa 1890, with brass fittings and antler handle the Corsan, Denton, Burdenkin & CO. Sheffield, no scabbard, blade 11cm 4 1/4in, overall 21cm 8 1/4in. Believed by family repute to taken from a criminal in Dawson City in the late 1890's. No supporting paperwork.
