A Pearce of London coromandel casket, mid 19th century, modelled as a domed trunk of small proportions, the domed hinged cover set with a brass mounted jasperware plaque depicting a classical charioteer, the silk lined interior with twin compartments each containing an associated scent bottle with stopper, 12.5cm high (at fault)
No key, multiple cracks to jasperware plaque, two 3cm splits to the top extending from the edges, further minor splits.
3cm chip to veneer on the inside of the cover, by the lock plate, foxing/staining to the silk interior.
Tarnishing to the two bottle tops, the base of the box is peeling away at one side, with a crack to the base board.
General dull patina with multiple water droplet stains, further minor wear commensurate with age and use
