A Flight Worcester plate of the Hope Service, painted en grisaille with 'Hope' looking out to sea with her left hand on an anchor and a sailing ship in the distance, with a cobalt blue and gilt border (some rubbing of the gilding), paper label with provenance verso, presented by the British Nation to Admiral Lord Nelson 'The Hero of the Nile' bequeathed to King William IV, and provenance bought at Christie's by D Sherratt & Co. Chester sold to E Cheshire Patchill, Nottingham, September '93, 24.5cm
There is a small chip to the face of the plate, also resulting in a loss of gilding in that small area. The edges of the plate do have some rubbing of the gilding around the circumference. Other than this the plate is in an overall good condition.
