CLIPPER SHIP COVER TO G.B. CARRIED "PER HAVILAH & RED JACKET VIA MELBOURNE"; 20 Apr. 1855 env. (minor wear) to London endorsed "Per Havilah & Red Jacket via Melbourne, thence via Marseilles" (part deleted in transit by P.O.) and "Stamp'd" and so carried by the famous Clipper Ship "Red Jacket" round Cape Horn but not via France; franked by a Strip of Three 2d's (poorly cut; margins at top and left; horiz. filing crease) cancelled by fine Adelaide "1" Numerals, having a very fine tombstone-framed "PAID/LIVERPOOL/SHIP" arrival d.s. (25 July) on the front. Carried on the same voyage as the cover in the previous lot. [Ex Floyd Risvold.]
