A good Japanese Satsuma pottery miniature teapot, in the style of Yabu Meizan, Meiji period, of compressed two part form, with basket handle, raised on three feet, the body decorated with autumnal maple trees, the leaves picked out in iron red enamels with gilt highlights, against a cream ground covered in a light crackled glaze, gilt border to waist, gilt and black geometric border to neck rim, the small spout with gilt highlight, rubbed gilt seal mark to base, 7.5 by 8cm high (4cm high with handle down).
