A yellow metal and black enamel Victorian mourning brooch annotated in gothic script "In memory of", the glazed panel with fair hair, the reverse inscribed "The Marchioness of Headfort, August 12 1842", having pin & hanging loop, 23mm. * Mary Quin Marchioness of Headfort, married the Marquis in 1901, beforehand she was Miss Rosie Boote, of musical comedy fame, died August 12 1842. together with a similar brooch, inscribed to the reverse "Betty Humphreys d. 21 Nov.1826". (no hair)(2)
