A BR(S) locomotive headboard, ATLANTIC COAST EXPRESS, carried on the principal service from Waterloo to the West of England. The title was introduced by the Southern Railway in July 1926 and this style of headboard, designed to be carried by Bulleid Pacifics, was used from the summer of 1953 until its last titled run in September 1964. The most multi-portioned express in the country, it had coaches for numerous holiday resorts in Devon and Cornwall. Cast aluminium, 60"x15", the front repainted. (Postage Band: N/A)
