Victorian Royal Navy sword, Midshipman’s dirk, blade marked for ‘Gillott & Hassell London X Portsmouth’ Edward VII Royal Arms mark to blade, crowned anchor to other side. Gilt half basket hilt incorporating crowned fouled anchor, and with turn down inner portion which locks to scabbard, lion head pommel and backstrap, wirebound white sharkskin grip, in its brass mounted clasp released leather scabbard with two rings. Blade length 47cm, overall length 60.5cm.
