Pair of Tyrolean carved walnut and inlaid hall chairs, late 19th Century, shaped carved backs centred with a panel featuring a shepherd and hunter in woods against an ebony ground, the seats inlaid throughout with leaf fronds and centred with ibex and an eagle, one seat lifting (originally to accommodate a musical box), all raised on carved legs, height 98cm

More Information

Both chairs are a little rickety with loose legs. One chair has a split along the back edge. Neither have any musical movement within the seat. The seats themselves have a myriad of old scratches and knocks. There are similar knocks around the edges and around the feet. That aside, these are nicely patinated and, apart from the missing movements, are in a relatively untouched condition.
