19th century English Naïve School - after the 17th century originals - two portraits of the sisters, Maria and Anna Webb.
1. Three-quarter length, wearing a red gown, her hand upon her spaniel. Insc. ‘An. Dom. 1651, Aetatis Suae 3’. Oil on canvas, 27 x 21 ins (68.5 x 53.5 cms). Ebonised frame. A label on the stretcher reading: ‘Maria, daughter of Sir Nicholas Webb’.
2. Another similar, ‘Anna, daughter of Sir Nicholas Webb’
