1839 (Oct 1) Entire letter from London to Scotland charged 2/2½ with an interesting postscript on the reverse "Not a frank to be got, but hopes held out of a penny post in Jany.". Also 1860 "Sixth Report of The Postmaster General on The Post Office", 84 pages, full of useful and interesting information including the number of franks delivered in 1839. (2).
