Early blind-panelled calf rebacked, hinges strengthened with part of a manuscript letter on vellum, large portion of front free endpaper excised, ownership signatures of Henry Hatcher dated 1637 to verso of title page of part two; booksellers' catalogue clippings to front pastedown with the armorial bookplate of Nicholas Dobree, Guernsey. The first English translation by James Mabbe who also translated works by Cervantes and is held by some to be the I.M. whose verses are prefixed to the first folio Shakespeare.
