A large oil painting on canvas "Isandlwana: The Death of Private Griffiths, VC" by Jason Askew, a dramatic scene of infantry, cavalry and Zulu warriors, Griffiths to the foreground, with the majestic mountain behind, signed by the artist and framed, 3'4" x 5'4", with Anglo Zulu War Society Certificate of Authenticity, stating that the painting has been exhibited by the Society at Brecon, Woolwich and Deepcut; also a 12" x 17" page of the artists pencil sketches for the painting and a copy of "Isandlwana: How the Zulus humbled the British Empire" by Greaves, illus, 2012, in DW. Very Good Condition (small cracks at top). Note: William Griffiths was awarded the Victoria Cross in 1867 for his part in rescuing comrades being attacked and stranded at the Little Andaman Island in the Indian ocean in 1867.. Plate 14
