A .577 percussion three-band Tower Rifle-Musket, pattern 1853 39'' barrel with ordnance and proof stamps; ladder rear-sight, block-and-blade fore-sight and jag-head ramrod, the lock stamped '1858' over 'TOWER'; the stock with rework stamp 'Pimlico 1860' and the soldier/owner's monogram W D stamped over it, the tang of the butt plate marked (possibly spuriously) with unit numbers: 'Y' over '363'
