The Medal Group, Miniatures & Naval Dress Sword of Lieutenant Kenneth Lewyn Edwards (1920-2010) Royal Navy. In 1931 at the age of eleven he attended the Royal Naval schools "Greenwich" "HMS Ganges" & "Holbrook". He joined the Navy as a boy seaman and served throughout WWII rising through the ranks to become a commissioned officer in 1952, serving as a Gunnery Officer until his retirement in 1970. Deployed in the Arctic, Mediterranean & Far East, his ships included HMS Devonshire: HMS Morecambe Bay & HMS Blackpool. The Medal Group consists of: 1939-1945 Star: Atlantic Star: Africa Star: Italy Star: Campaign Medal: Malaya Medal: Korea Medal QEII: Korea U.N Medal. The KGV Naval Dress Sword originally belonging to Group Captain A. Brister OBE who served in the Royal Naval Air Service during WWI 1914-18 was presented to Lieutenant Edwards on his promotion in 1952. Together with Photographic prints and page from The London Gazette referring to his promotion.
