English School (19th century) - Portrait of a gentleman seated in a chair holding a document in his right hand, oil on canvas, 18" x 14"

In unlined condition however there has been a hole and flaking paint down the left hand side of the work this has been stabilised by putting a patch on the reverse there is a further smaller patch in the centre of the gentleman's head near his right eye this has been filled and restored, the restoration is now starting to slightly discolour, work has craquelure, painting does has dirt and discoloured varnish to the surface and is contained within its original early to mid 19th century gilt plaster and wooden frame.
