unmarked, Madras, c.1920, Raj period, comprising a teapot, milk jug and twin-handled sugar bowl, each of compressed circular form upon a stepped circular foot, the handles formed as elephants’ heads and trunks, the teapot spout similarly formed, the teapot with a hinged gently domed lid surmounted by a cast finial formed as a caparisoned elephant, the bodies with Swami style embossed decoration of shaped vignettes of Hindu gods, between stylised rosettes and below a ring punch band.
