On the coast at Kiyomi even the sky bars the way
The moon is blocked by the Mio pine groves

The man seated on the deer skin stool is the sixteenth century warlord Takeda Shingen. He sets his sight on Mount Fuji, one of the places he took over in his lifetime, his days filed with battles fought to unify Japan. The mountain in the background parallels Shingen's imposing stance. This depiction of him with the mountain is fitting as he believed himself to be as unshakeable and study as a mountain.
