A smokebox numberplate, 42309, from a LMS Class 4 2-6-4T No 2309 built at Derby in 1928, becoming BR 42309. A long time Stafford engine before finishing its days at Carnforth from where it was withdrawn in September 1964 and sold for scrap to Central Wagon Co at Ince. Ex loco condition. (Postage Band: D)
