A Victorian diamond boat ring, comprising twelve graduated old cut diamonds, measuring between 2.20mm and 3.00mm, claw set to a boat shaped head with pierced gallery, continuing to plain polished shank, stamped '18', size L 1/2, weight 4.7gms

A few diamonds show abrasions/nibbling around the girdles on the outer sides of the stones. No large chips, fractures or losses. There are signs of possible retipping to many of the claws. Claws and gallery setting show moderate wear and some thinning commensurate with age and wear, but all stones appear secure. Shank shows minor signs of thinning, general scratching and wear, but no splitting, resizing or repair. Professional cleaning may be required.
