A Chinese carved, mottled dark brown soapstone carving of Shou Lao, the God of Longevity, carrying a rugged staff in one hand, and in the other, the peach of immortality, standing on an integral square base with a single, incised character mark, 5½in. (14cm.) high. Small chip and several frits to edges of base. One or two tiny bruises elsewhere. Overall good.
