A DISALLOWED FRANKING; 12 Mar. 1855 front and part rear flap (few defects) to Birmingham franked 2d Red pair & single tied by faint bar cancels with Salisbury cds and Liverpool arrival cds. Rear with part Adelaide and Birmingham cds and carried on the Lightning from Melbourne to Liverpool and July 1855 E (creased) to London franked S.Australia strip of three 2d Red (variable margins) and with mild creasing and apparently posted at Melbourne where left uncancelled and "d6" h.s. charge raised on arrival as franking disallowed.
