A large Chinese Republic Period celadon glazed 'Longevity' vase, featuring rows of various shou (longevity) characters, the shoulder decoration featruing floral lappets, trefoils and ruyi heads, the neck carved on two sides and applied with a pair of confronting fish centred on a wan character, celadon green glaze thinning to white on the raised areas, the base carved with a six-character Qianlong mark "Made in the Great Qing Dynasty during the reign of the Emperor Qianlong" in relief within a recessed square. 44 cm high.
Note: This is a Republic period example of the Qianlong Longevity vase that sold at Sothebys Hong Kong in 2013 for £8.7 million.
